Vamos Pa'fuera a Caminar with GALEO and Latinxhikers at Davidson - Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve! We'll be gathering at the Nature Center to learn about the Preserve's ecology, then take a short hike up Arabia Mountain together. We'll end the evening by communing for reflection and an abridged cacao ceremony by Maya Moon Cacao at the end of the evening, and participants will leave with light bites!

We hope this event will create a safe space to understand and feel the healing power of connecting with community and nature.

GALEO, formerly known as the Georgia Association of Elected Officials, is a non-partisan non-profit organization based in Norcross, Georgia, founded in 2003. GALEO strives for a better Georgia where the Latinx community is engaged civically, and its contributions and concerns are recognized. GALEO focuses on increasing civic participation of the Latinx community and developing prominent Latino leaders throughout Georgia.

Latinxhikers is a grassroots initiative dedicated to breaking down barriers in the outdoors by creating access, providing representation, & empowering our community to establish connections with nature just as our ancestors once had.

Maya Moon Cacao

We are indigenous kaqchikel Mayan sisters, born and raised in the village of San Marcos La Laguna on the shores of the beautiful Lake Atitlan in the mountains of western Guatemala. We are the founders of Maya Moon Cacao, and we'd love to share our cultural heritage from ancestral traditions of this loving medicine with you!

Our mission is to provide a dignified living wage to Mayan single mothers and handicapped youth in San Marcos La Laguna and fair trade opportunities to our farmer partners. Our team works hard to bring you the purest artisanal organic cacao, for a sacred cacao ceremony or just a healthy smoothie. Maya Moon Cacao - the Drink of the Gods!
